Job summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is seeking a Welder for our Fire Fabrication shop to perform welding on steel pipe using a universal welder, following blueprints and specifications.

You will be responsible for setting up equipment, welding in multiple positions, and ensuring quality through testing, with an emphasis on safety and reliability in a fast-paced environment. Indiana operations with onsite shifts.

Qualifications

• 4+ years welding experience.
• Read a tape measure.
• Pipe welding certificates a plus.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to pass a drug test.
• Able to stand 8-12 hour shifts.
• Willing to work Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings.
• Take measurements to plan layouts.
• Set up welding machine according to specifications.
• Weld components using semi-automatic welding equipment.
• Maintain equipment in safe, reliable condition.
• Test machine welds to ensure quality.
• Weld by hand leaks found in tests.

Job Summary

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings
• Take measurements to plan layouts
• Set up welding machine according to specifications
• Weld components using semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Test all machine welds to ensure quality
• Weld by hand any leaks found in quality penetration die test
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 4 plus years of welding experience
• Read a tape measure
• Pipe welding and welding certificates a plus
• Be dependable
• Good attendance and a positive attitude are critical for this position
• Good work ethic and a willingness to learn
• Must be able to communicate ideas, thoughts, etc. both verbally and in written form
• Must be able to work Saturday (will count against attendance record if missed).
• Must be 18 years or older
• Attention to detail
• Ability to follow directions and communicate with others
• Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, and walk for 8-12 hour shifts
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required

Compensation: $24.94 per hour starting on first shift. Shift differential available.
