We are seeking a skilled and experienced welder to join our manufacturing/fabrication shop team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various welding techniques, metal fabrication, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints. This position requires a high level of precision, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to produce high-quality fabricated metal components.

- Safely use welding tools (e.g., grinders, torches, plasma cutters)
- Operate cranes and lifting equipment, including proper rigging use
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Work in non-temperature-controlled environments
- Perform frequent bending, squatting, and climbing
- Stand for extended periods of time
- Pass drug and background screening
- Operate shop equipment for extended periods of time
- Work with arms above head
- Communicate professionally and courteously with others
- Follow directions and work well in a team
- Work independently in a safe and professional manner
- Support training and mentor other welders
- Willing to learn and improve welding skills and processes
- 5+ years of welding experience
- Understand welding symbols
- Operate forklifts (training will be included)
- Routinely perform cleaning procedures and replace consumable parts specific to various machines
- Read and follow welding procedure specifications to meet quality and performance standards
- Effectively produce structural steel CJP, PJP, and fillet welds in all positions using the SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW-G welding processes
- AWS D1.1 structural steel qualification testing in all positions using the SMAW process
- AWS D1.1 structural steel qualification testing in all positions using the GMAW process in various types of transfer modes
- AWS D1.1 structural steel qualification testing in all positions using the FCAW-G process
- AWS D1.8 structural steel seismic supplemental welder qualification for restricted welding
- Set up and operate air carbon arc gouging equipment
- Set up and operate plasma cutting equipment
- Set up and operate mechanical and manual cutting devices
- Ability to use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions of weld joints in accordance with approved joint designs
- Inspect products to ensure quality and be able to identify and correct unacceptable areas
- Ability to read and use standard and metric measuring devices
- Read and interpret blueprints, including plan, isometric, and sectional views
- Take measurements and lay out workpieces from drawings
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certification(s)
- Forklift operation experience
- Understanding of how to identify different types of metals
- Forklift/Boom Lift/Scissor Lift Certified
- AWS D1.1 structural steel qualification testing in all positions using the FCAW-S process
- AWS D1.2 structural aluminum qualification tests in 6G positions using the GTAW process
- AWS D1.2 structural aluminum qualification tests in all positions using the GMAW process
- AWS D1.3 structural sheet steel qualification tests in 1F positions using the GMAW process
- AWS D1.6 structural stainless steel qualification tests in all positions using the GMAW, FCAW-G, and GTAW processes
