Job summary

R.J. Corman Railroad Group in Nicholasville, Kentucky seeks a welder to join our team, performing fabrication and welding on railroad and earth-moving equipment. You will read blueprints, design and build projects, and travel as needed. A state 3G/4G welding certification or ability to obtain it is required.

Responsibilities include fabricating and repairing railroad structures, operating related equipment, and contributing to a safe, drug-free workplace consistent with company policy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in fabrication, MIG and stick welding.
• Have passed or able to pass state certification 3G/4G welding test using .045 flux core
• Able to read and understand blueprints
• Able to design and build projects
• Experience with brake press, shear, plasma cutter, torch, and iron worker
• Must be able to travel as needed

Responsibilities:

• Perform work on earth moving equipment, railroad equipment, and other structures
• Perform other duties as required.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:

• 5 plus years’ experience in fabrication, Mig and stick welding
• Have passed or able to pass state certification 3G/4G welding test using .045 flux core
• Able to read and understand blueprints
• Able to design and build projects
• Experience with brake press, shear, plasma cutter, torch, and iron worker
• Must be able to travel as needed

Physical Requirements:

• Able to perform physical strenuous work
• Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch
• Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 lbs
• Able to navigate into confined spaces as necessary
• Requires frequent twisting while operating equipment
