Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and determine welding sequences.
  • Tack and weld parts, ensuring alignment and fit.
  • Prepare, assemble, and tack welds as required.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment.
  • Notify supervisor of faulty tools or materials.
  • Support quality control to meet standards.
  • Work in accordance with OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Welder will be responsible for reading blueprints, tacking materials, and assisting other welders/fabricators to ensure on-time and high-quality items are fabricated to multiple end users.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
  • Performs the welding and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
  • Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
  • Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
  • Quality control to meet customer and internal standards.
  • Ability to work in a safe manner consistent with OSHA Standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • A minimum of 0-1 years of relative experience required
  • Experienced with MIG welding
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other shop drawing required
  • Computer literacy and ability to read a tape measure
  • Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to meet all deadlines even with changing priorities
  • Continuous improvement and quality focus
  • Previous use of manual and power hand tools required
