Job summary

MODLOGIQ in New Holland PA is seeking an experienced Welder (Level II) to join our Structural Steel team and construct modular steel frames. You will align, weld, and repair structures according to plans and safety standards.

The role requires FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW in all positions, blueprint reading, and strict adherence to quality control. Travel for projects may be required; US citizenship and personal hand tools are expected.

Qualifications

  • AWS D1.1 certification and a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
  • Minimum 1 year of welding experience (FCAW or SMAW)
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting AWS welding symbols and data sheets
  • Strict adherence to safety policies and ability to stop work when unsafe conditions are present
  • Must be a US citizen, own personal hand tools, and be willing to travel or stay overnight for projects

Responsibilities

  • Align, weld, and repair steel structures according to project plans and safety standards.
  • Perform welding (FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW) in all positions; layout, tack-weld, and grind parts per blueprints and specs.
  • Follow the Method of Construction and project schedules; manage labor hours and keep the work area clean and stocked.
  • Inspect finished work against drawings as the first level of QA/Safety feedback.
  • Assist in weather-proofing buildings and operate heavy equipment like large cranes.
  • Work in varying environments and extreme weather; maintain high concentration in tight spaces.

Job description

MODLOGIQ is seeking an experienced Welder to work in our New Holland PA plant to work with our Structural Steel team to construct modular steel frames.

What you'll do
  • As a Level II Welder , you will align, weld, and repair steel structures according to project plans and safety standards. You are responsible for the quality and accuracy of your work throughout all construction phases, collaborating with the foreman and sub-trades to deliver high-quality projects on schedule
  • Technical Execution: Perform welding (FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW) in all positions. Tasks include layout, aligning, tack-welding, and grinding parts according to blueprints and technical specifications
  • Project Flow: Follow the Method of Construction (MOC) and project schedules. Manage labor hours efficiently and ensure the work area is clean and materials are stocked
  • Quality Control: Act as the "first level" of quality control by inspecting finished work against drawings. Address any deficiencies reported by the QA/Safety team immediately
  • Site Management: Assist in weather-proofing buildings and operating heavy equipment like large cranes
  • Conditions: Ability to work in varying environments, from quiet offices to loud production plants (>80 decibels), and in all weather conditions (extreme heat/cold)
  • Aptitude: High level of concentration over long periods and the ability to work in tight spaces
Qualifications
  • Certifications: Must maintain AWS D1.1 certification and a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of work experience in welding (specifically FCAW or SMAW)
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, using construction calculators, and interpreting AWS welding symbols and data sheets
  • Safety & Compliance: Strict adherence to company policies and safety protocols, including fire extinguisher training and "stop work" authority for unsafe conditions
  • Logistics: Must be a US citizen, own personal hand tools, and be willing to travel or stay overnight for projects as needed
