JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $19.00 per hour

Work Schedule: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM (Monday - Friday)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Know and understand all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment.
• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel, and gas flow based on observed bead conditions.
• Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards.
• Determine when adjustments or gun manipulations are needed.
• Decide on repairs for pinholes and burn-through caused by auto welders.
• Train and instruct proper welding procedures in accordance with manufacturing standards.
• Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment safely.
• Maintain bead quality to specified shapes, sizes, and penetrations.
• Ensure numerical and alphabetical sequences are correct.
• Implement continuous improvement practices in the work area.
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned by the Team Leader.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school; or 1-3 years of welding experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Understand and interpret policy manuals, safety rules, operating instructions, and correspondence.
• Effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions.
• Perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, and division.
• Proficient in using power hand tools.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Work effectively to meet deadlines.
• Read measuring devices such as tape measures, protractors, and micrometers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, above shoulder height and below waist.
