Job summary

Penz Products, a Tramec Company, in Mishawaka, IN, seeks a Welder to weld, fabricate and assemble metal components to exact specifications. The role requires careful attention to detail, basic shop math, and the ability to read blueprints and welding symbols while safely operating welding equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
  • 1–2 years MIG welding experience or completion of an accredited welding program.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand welding symbols.
  • Strong understanding of welding safety and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Weld steel according to specifications.
  • Select, measure, cut, and join metals per specs.
  • Prepare metals and surfaces for safe assembly.
  • Interpret specifications and blueprints accurately.
  • Regularly clean and inspect welding equipment and tools.
  • Operate forklift as required and licensed if needed.
  • May be required to perform other reasonable tasks.

Position Summary:

The welder isresponsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling metal components according to specifications and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical ability, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Shift:

Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm but hours could vary

Essential Job Functions:
  • Must be able to weld steel.
  • Selecting, measuring, cutting, and joining appropriate metals to specifications.
  • Preparing metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
  • Interpreting specifications and blueprints accurately.
  • Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools.
  • Operate forklift as required (Must be properly licensed in accordance with existing company policy).
  • May be required by management to perform other reasonable work-related tasks.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1-2 years of MIG welding experience (or completion of an accredited welding program)
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand welding symbols
  • Strong understanding of welding safety and PPE requirements
  • Proficiency using fabrication tools, measuring devices, and basic shop math
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Certification in welding is a plus, but not required.
