Job summary

Penz Products, a Tramec Company, is seeking a Welder to join our fabrication team in Mishawaka, Indiana. You will weld, fabricate, and assemble metal components to detailed specifications, apply safety standards, and contribute to high-quality manufacturing.

Shift is Monday–Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with potential for variation. Requirements include 1–2 years MIG welding experience or completion of a welding program, ability to read blueprints, lifting up to 50 lbs, and strict attention to

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years MIG welding experience or completion of an accredited welding program.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand welding symbols.
  • Strong understanding of welding safety and PPE requirements.
  • Proficiency using fabrication tools and basic shop math.

Responsibilities

  • Weld steel and assemble metal components according to specifications.
  • Select, measure, cut, and join metals to specifications.
  • Prepare metals and surfaces to ensure safe and effective assembly.
  • Interpret specifications and blueprints accurately.
  • Regularly clean and inspect welding equipment and tools.
  • Operate forklift as required (if licensed).
  • May be asked to perform other related tasks by management.

Position Summary

The welder is responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling metal components according to specifications and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical ability, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Shift

Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm but hours could vary

Essential Job Functions
  • Must be able to weld steel.
  • Selecting, measuring, cutting, and joining appropriate metals to specifications.
  • Preparing metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
  • Interpreting specifications and blueprints accurately.
  • Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools.
  • Operate forklift as required (Must be properly licensed in accordance with existing company policy).
  • May be required by management to perform other reasonable work‑related tasks.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1–2 years of MIG welding experience (or completion of an accredited welding program)
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand welding symbols
  • Strong understanding of welding safety and PPE requirements
  • Proficiency using fabrication tools, measuring devices, and basic shop math
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Certification in welding is a plus, but not required.
