Job summary

Penz Products, a Tramec Company, is seeking a Welder to join our fabrication team. You will weld steel components, interpret blueprints, and assemble parts to meet precise specifications while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires attention to detail, basic shop math, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Typical shift is Monday through Friday, with potential schedule variations.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of MIG welding experience or completion of an accredited welding program.
  • Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Strong safety awareness and PPE requirements.
  • Proficiency with fabrication tools and basic shop math.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Weld steel components and assemble metal parts per specifications.
  • Measure, cut, and join metals according to blueprints.
  • Prepare metal surfaces for safe and effective assembly.
  • Inspect welding equipment and maintain cleanliness.
  • Operate forklift when required (licensed per policy).
  • Perform other related tasks as needed by supervision.

Position Summary:

The welder isresponsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling metal components according to specifications and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical ability, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Shift:

Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm but hours could vary

Essential Job Functions:
  • Must be able to weld steel.
  • Selecting, measuring, cutting, and joining appropriate metals to specifications.
  • Preparing metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
  • Interpreting specifications and blueprints accurately.
  • Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools.
  • Operate forklift as required (Must be properly licensed in accordance with existing company policy).
  • May be required by management to perform other reasonable work-related tasks.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1-2 years of MIG welding experience (or completion of an accredited welding program)
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand welding symbols
  • Strong understanding of welding safety and PPE requirements
  • Proficiency using fabrication tools, measuring devices, and basic shop math
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Certification in welding is a plus, but not required.
