Job summary

Ingram Marine Group in Metropolis, IL is seeking a Welder to join our fleet maintenance team. You will perform welding, cutting and fitting, assist in dry docking, and operate equipment as needed.

Job description

Ingram Marine Group is seeking a Welder for our team in Metropolis, IL. Whether you are a certified welder, or just starting, Ingram will invest in your training and development for the next level.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of Ingram's fleet of towing vessels. We operate in an environment where flexibility and a willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilities keep things interesting!

What you'll be doing:
  • Welding/Cutting/Fitting
  • Dry docking vessels for hull repair
  • Operating a forklift
  • Operating a hydraulic crane
  • Firewatch on towing vessels
  • Routine dock clean-up
  • Other duties as requested

Additional Information

Candidates must:

  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Display excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to walk and lift for extended periods
  • Must be able to carry more than fifty pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be able to read and write the English language to comply with USCG regulatory requirements
