Job description

Arcosa Aggregates is seeking a Welder for our Franklinton, LA office who possesses a strong understanding of metals and equipment and shows proof of experience using them to assemble and fabricate structures made of metal. Using equipment such as welders, shapers, cutters, and other measuring tools, a welder is responsible for producing products according to employer or customer specifications and standards.

Day to Day
  1. Actively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition.
  2. Perform maintenance tasks and diagnose operating problems in areas including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, electrical fixtures, and mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  3. Comply with all safety rules, procedures, and government regulations.
  4. Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of equipment and workplace to ensure optimal performance.
  5. Maintain effective communication with plant employees and operators.
  6. Perform additional duties as assigned.
  7. Proficient in various types of metal fabrication.
  8. Certified Welder in Mig, Tig, and Rod processes.
  9. Possess basic troubleshooting skills.
  10. Participate in safety committees or initiatives if involved.
About You
  1. Certified Welder with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  2. Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance.
  3. Positive, team-oriented attitude.
  4. Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and nights when necessary.
  5. Physical ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, and climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet.
  6. Ability to work in outdoor environments with varying conditions (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy).
  7. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  8. CPR & First Aid trained.
  9. MSHA, Confined Space, and Fall Protection trained.
Working Conditions and Physical Environment

Some tasks may require working in harsh conditions, including dirty environments, air contamination, intense noise, and restricted movement.
