Job summary

Aebi Schmidt USA is seeking a Welder to assemble, secure, and weld metal parts using pulse MIG welding. You'll read blueprints, fabricate components to specs, and operate hoists or cranes with minimal supervision.

The role requires MIG welding experience (pulse welding preferred), ability to lift up to 50 lbs, read English instructions and drawings, and safely use hand and power tools. You will help move finished products and maintain safety on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience required; pulse welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints in English.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly and operate cranes/hoists.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints to create quality products.
• Troubleshoot shop floor issues with supervisors to keep projects moving forward.
• Prepare parts for welding by reading blueprints and fixturing.
• Ensure equipment is safe, properly set up, and PPE is used.
• Identify and move finished products with a forklift if trained.
• Operate manual and automatic welders with proper wire, heat, and speed.
• Perform welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead, and down positions.
• Conduct inspections as required by standards.

They will also read and interpret blueprints of a complex nature, fabricating and welding metal components according to specifications and with little supervision. A Welder will also apply appropriate welding techniques to produce quality welds.

They will also read and interpret blueprints of a complex nature, fabricating and welding metal components according to specifications and with little supervision. A Welder will also apply appropriate welding techniques to produce quality welds.

Responsibilities

• Follow Blueprints to create quality products.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise on the shop floor and confer with supervisors and production personnel to resolve problems, keeping projects moving forward for the best outcome.
• Prepare products to be welded by reading blueprints and utilizing fixturing.
• Ensure all equipment is in good repair, properly set up, and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use, including mandatory PPE.
• Responsible for identifying and moving all finished products to the proper location within the shop using a forklift, if trained.
• Operate manual wire feed welders and automatic welders while utilizing appropriate welding wire, heat, arc, speed, depth, and weld bead size.
• Proficient welds in all positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead, and down.
• Perform inspections as required by standards.

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience required. Pulse welding experience preferred.
• Prior fabrication background preferred.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs without assistance from various positions.
• Ability to use cranes and hoists.
• Ability to safely use hand, air, pneumatic, and power tools, and machinery.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
