Job description

Description

Responsible for the operation of at least 25% of fabrication equipment, such as MIG welding (Aluminum, stainless steel and galvanized), hydraulic presses, punch presses and other equipment and tools to cut, form, and attach metal together. May also rivet, spot weld, or solder pieces together to fabricate raw material for assembly of product. Is required to read and interpret existing blueprints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible to ensure that the work area is kept clean, organized, and safe.
  2. Reviews equipment to ensure preventive maintenance is performed.
  3. Operates at least 25% of fabrication equipment such as welding (MIG welding Aluminum, stainless steel), hydraulic presses and punch presses and other equipment and tools to cut, form, and attach metal together.
  4. Assists with the set-up, preventive maintenance, operation, and quality of all equipment in Fabrication department, such as welder machines, form rollers, tube cutter, etc.
  5. Performs safety and housekeeping activities.
  6. May assist in training Fabricator.

*This position requires regular on-time attendance as outlined by Human Resources or your supervisor(s). The position also requires the ability to work independently or in a team setting. You will be expected to accept direction from your supervisor, management and subordinate personnel and to work amicably and productively with co-workers.

  2. Must be dependable, accurate, customer oriented, and possess a strong work ethic.
  3. Requires an ability to perform multiple tasks.
  4. Requires an ability to weld MIG such as Aluminum, stainless steel and galvanized.
  5. Must be mechanically minded and willing to be cross-trained in a variety of Fabrication functions.
  6. Consistently puts forth exceptional effort, works efficiently, and is able to keep up with assigned workload.
  7. Ability to motivate self to achieve the company’s goals on safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.
  8. Willing to work in areas outside of direct responsibility when needed.
  9. Ability to work any shift.
  10. Requires strong communication skills.

Education and Experience:

Education: HS Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One year experience operating metal fabrication equipment and welding.
