FreightCar America, Inc. in Johnstown, PA is seeking a hands-on welder and warehouse associate to handle standard and non-standard railcar parts, ship and receive materials, and maintain inventory with minimal supervision.
The role requires 1G welding, blueprint reading, forklift and crane operation, and the ability to work from drawings and shop math. Prior railcar or manufacturing/warehouse experience is preferred in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and welding smoke.
Handle standard/non-standard railcar/non-railcar parts and components. Ship and receive material within a warehouse environment, in addition to the maintenance of inventory and quality functions. All functions must be completed with minimal supervision.

This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals as well as the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as the ability to apply concepts and proportions to practical situations is required. This position also requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists as well as the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
This position is performed in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to weather, noise, and welding smoke.
