A leading company in healthcare manufacturing is seeking a skilled Welder for the 2nd shift. The position involves welding various materials such as aluminum and stainless steel while ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. Applicants should possess relevant experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to work effectively in team settings.
Overall Summary:
2nd shift hours: 2:30pm to 11pm (M-F)
The primary function of this position is to weld a high-quality weldment across a high mix of fabricated materials (aluminum, stainless steel, steel) and range of thickness used in our manufacturing process efficiently.
Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to operate GMAW (MIG) / GTAW (TIG) and follow WPS welding processes(3G/3F)
* RWMA (Spot weld) resistance welding processes and follow WPS welding processes
* Ability to operate an oxy-acetylene torch (brazing process a plus)
* Knowledge of weld symbols and where to look them up
* Able to demonstrate basics of blueprinting reading
* Able to read a tape measure and calipers (converting fraction and decimals)
* Basic knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment
* Proficient in using shop tools related to welding fit up (such as grinders)
* Follows both visual and written work instructions in order to complete assigned tasks within set time allotted
* Accurately reports shop floor production data via computer terminal and/or written reporting
* Performs operator maintenance on equipment
* Performs cycle counting of parts and material handling duties as required
* Adheres to all quality and safety standards
* Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
* Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: May participate in lean /six sigma/quality/safety or other team building initiatives as required
Years of Experience: 1-3 years of industry related experience
Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED preferred. In lieu of diploma, relevant work experience demonstrating
the required job skills and abilities needed to successfully perform the job.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
* Ability to work from verbal and written instructions
* Ability to obtain AWS Certifications for job level within time required timeline
* Operation of small power tools, other hand tools and computerized and high-pressure equipment
* Goal oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner
* Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Previous AWS Welding certifications are a plus but not required
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee
encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:
* Work is accomplished in a moderately clean plant environment.
* The production floor does not have a cooling system.
* The sound level in the work environment may fluctuate due to noises associated with
manufacturing process
* Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil and/or fumes
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
* Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications
* Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs., occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
* Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, work overhead with arms, and sit or stand for several hours at a time
* Eye/hand coordination required, with steady and agile hands to operate equipment and tools
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus (AWS vision acuity to Jaeger J2 at 12 in)
* Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required per plant rules
Training:
* New employee safety orientation and training on special tools or software required for job
performance.
