Job summary

American Metal Fabricators in Gastonia, NC, seeks experienced welders (MIG & TIG) to join our production team. You will read blueprints, interpret weld symbols, select wire and gas, set up machines, and work with fabrication equipment such as presses, lathes and shears.

This is a full-time role with a Monday–Thursday schedule. You will read blueprints, interpret weld symbols, and be proficient with a measuring tape, ensuring accurate welds and adherence to prints.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints, including weld symbols, and be proficient with measuring tape.
• Experience in fabrication environment and setting up machines, selecting weld wire/gas.
• Able to read prints you are welding from and perform related fabrication tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up welding machine and select weld wire/gas.
• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols for fabrication work.
• Operate or work with fabrication equipment (press brakes, lathes, shears) when needed.

We have job openings for experienced welders (MIG & TIG). Candidate must be able to read blueprints, including all weld symbols and be proficient reading a measuring tape. This isn’t production line welding; You will need to know how to set up the machine, what weld wire/gas to use, how to read the prints you are welding from, etc. Experience in the fabrication area, using press brakes, lathes, shears, etc. is a plus. This is a full‑time position, Monday through Thursday from 7:00am to 5:30pm.
