As a Welder, you will be responsible for setting up and aligning parts per blueprint in preparation for welding and for performing welding operations. Reporting directly to the Manager, this position is based in Fulton, MS.

There are two shifts at the Fulton Switchgear location:

1. 1st shift is Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 3pm.
2. 2nd shift is Monday through Thursday from 4pm to 2:30am.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: At least 1 year of welding experience or training. High school diploma or GED required. Experience in Production Welding or a Welding certificate is REQUIRED.
• Skills: Ability to read tape measure and blueprints. Proper operation of welding equipment. Trained in SOPs and work instructions. Experience with welding machines, cutting torches, buffers, grinders, overhead cranes, ratchet straps, rubber hammers, and tape measures.
• Customer Focus: Ability to understand instructions, communicate effectively, and apply common sense for multi-step tasks. Ability to handle standardized situations with limited variables.
• Physical Demands: Standing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, talking, hearing, and lifting items up to 250 lbs. Requires clear vision at close distances.

What You’ll Do

• Review blueprints and consult with Lead to determine requirements.
• Gather materials and perform layout per specifications.
• Set up and adjust welding machines.
• Operate welding guns to join metals such as steel, aluminum, copper.
• Inspect welds, re-weld defective joints, and clean welds.
• Operate cutting tools and perform quality checks.
• Notify Lead or Inspector when products are ready for inspection.
• Maintain a clean work area.
