Job summary

Marand is seeking a skilled Welder to join our manufacturing team in Fort Worth, TX. You will assemble and fabricate metal components using TIG and MIG welding methods, reading drawings, and ensuring quality.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience, AWS D1.1/D1.2 and AWS D17.1 certifications, and proficiency with aluminum and stainless materials. You will contribute to continuous improvement and mentor trainees.

Qualifications

  • AWS D1.1/D1.2 certified welders preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable MIG/TIG welding experience.
  • Experience welding aluminum (6061, 5032) and stainless (316, 17-4).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret and follow engineering drawings and weld symbols.
  • Select tools and fixturing to complete tasks.
  • Create weldment set-ups meeting component requirements.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure standards.
  • Rework welded parts per specifications and NDT tests.
  • Improve production times through process evaluation.
  • Support onboarding of other employees and share knowledge.
  • Contribute to continuous learning.

About the Role

We are looking for highly motivated Welder, responsible for assembling and / or fabricating mechanical metal parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a manufacturing organization.

  • Read, interpret and follow engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products.
  • Select appropriate tools/equipment to complete the required task.
  • Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet component requirements.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets required quality standards.
  • Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes & NDT testing.
  • Continually evaluate performance, processes and technology to improve production times and overall effectiveness.
  • Perform quality checks on own and others work to ensure product meets quality standards.
  • Take ownership of product quality by performing inspection and dimensional checks on own work and where required, on the work of others.
  • Actively support and participate in the development and onboarding of other employees and apprentices, including sharing knowledge, demonstrating tasks, and providing guidance as required.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and knowledge transfer across the team.
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • Familiarity/certification to AWS D1.1/D1.2 and AWS D17.1. GTAW(TIG) and GMAW(MIG).
  • Three (3) years of verifiable welding experience including MIG/TIG welding for aluminum materials including 6061, 5032, and stainless - 316, 17-4, HY100 and titanium.
  • Specific technical or vocational training or certification.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment, with proven ability to read/interpret documentation, drawings etc.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
  • Work in a team environment and respect all teammates.
