Description

The welder assists or works independently of others handling, positioning, layout, tacking, and welding together metal components, including structural shapes, plates, and light gauge structural components for modular buildings and equipment enclosures. This work may be performed on the shop floor or outdoors on grounds and work pods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Safely operate associated welding equipment such as handheld plasma cutters, torches, and grinders.
• Position and clamp workpieces together in jigs or fixtures.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Weld various thicknesses of metals.

Requirements

• One-year certificate from college or technical school preferred, or at least 2 years of welding experience required.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification; prior forklift experience is preferred.
• Work schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6 am - 4:30 pm; willingness to work overtime as needed.
