Job summary

System One is seeking a Welder in Chattanooga, TN for a contract-to-hire role. The welder will perform TIG and flux core welding on carbon and stainless steel, fabricate and weld components, and interpret blueprints and welding docs. The position requires strict adherence to quality and safety standards and the ability to work onsite.

Overtime may be required to meet project schedules. Minimum 5 years of welding/fabrication experience is required, with proficiency in TIG and flux core methods

Overview

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG and flux core welding on carbon steel and stainless steel components.
• Fabricate, assemble, and weld pressure boundary and structural components according to specifications and quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, welding procedures, and fabrication documents.
• Complete welds that meet ASME Section IX and AWS quality requirements.
• Maintain compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
• Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, integrity, and adherence to applicable codes and standards.
• Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
• Support shop and field operations as needed.
• Work overtime as required to meet project schedules and customer commitments.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of welding and fabrication experience.
• Proficient in TIG and flux core welding processes.
• Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel materials.
• Ability to pass ASME Section IX and AWS X-ray 6G welding qualifications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
• Ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift materials up to 75 pounds as required.
