Job Duties
- Perform MIG and TIG welding with minimal supervision.
- Set up welding equipment according to Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Complete weldments that meet AWS welding codes, engineering drawings, and quality requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and welding symbols.
- Operate material handling equipment as needed to support welding operations.
- Use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, rulers, and dial calipers to ensure accuracy.
- Perform minor maintenance on welding equipment and maintain assigned tools.
- Operate hand tools, air tools, and electric grinders safely.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain reliable attendance.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Requirements
- 1 year of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of MIG and TIG welding processes.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
- Ability to perform welds that pass visual inspection and required testing.
- Experience using measuring tools, including tape measures, rulers, squares, and dial calipers.
- Basic math skills, including measurements and conversions.
- Knowledge of welding equipment setup and operation.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, air tools, and electric grinders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AWS welding symbols.
- Previous manufacturing or fabrication experience.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in welding positions throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift metal components, materials, and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to safely wear welding helmets, gloves, and required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to safely work around welding equipment, sparks, heat, and fabrication machinery while following established safety procedures.
- Stand and move throughout the workday.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and grasp.
- Lift up to lbs occasionally, lbs frequently, and lighter materials continuously.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements while welding.
