Job Title: Welder

Job Summary

A Welder operates appropriate equipment to assemble mechanical structures or parts with precision, providing a foundation for a strong infrastructure by applying AWS D1.1 Structural welds.

Responsibilities

1. Apply welds per AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel and/or PTTI weldment standards and WPS.
2. Layout and fabricate materials according to engineered drawings, sketches, written work instructions, and verbal instructions.
3. Perform minor repairs to welding and burning equipment.
4. Use drawings and instructions to layout tanks, assemblies, covers, conservators, and other parts.
5. Hand burn and grind as needed.
6. Layout and shoot studs per drawings.
7. Check work against drawings.
8. Complete all Q.A. sheets and sign-off sheets by end of shift.
9. Handle material movement and storage.
10. Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

• Experience reading blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to read measurements for layout and procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Vocational weld training.
