Job summary

Flowserve is seeking a skilled welder to join a customer-focused team on a 2nd shift (3:00 PM–1:30 AM) with a four-day workweek (Tue–Fri). You will select welding methods, read blueprints, and prepare parts for assembly and repair, while ensuring quality and meeting production goals.

Responsibilities include setting up welding equipment, performing repairs, troubleshooting, documenting data, and staying compliant with safety standards.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with welding in manufacturing or repair settings.
  • Knowledge of welding procedures and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lay out work from blueprints and spec sheets.
  • Set up and operate a lathe for prep of welded parts.
  • Prepare materials and components according to drawings.
  • Perform welding repairs and installations as needed.
  • Meet production goals and monitor scrap and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot process/equipment issues and collaborate with team.
  • Record data in systems or logs and maintain traceability.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow safety rules.
  • Perform post-weld heat treatments when required.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Role Summary:This position welds parts and components for equipment, products, and installations by means of MIG, MAG, TIG, electrode welds or any other welding application. As part of a customer-focused team, you will be working with tight deadlines, challenging mechanical problems, and discussing the work with the manager before, during, and after work completion.This is a 2nd shift opportunity (3:00 PM–1:30 AM), with a four-day workweek (Tuesday–Friday).ResponsibilitiesSelect the appropriate welding method, such as TIG, MIG, MAG or stick.Plan and lay out work from blueprints and manufacturers’ specification sheets, using shop math and measuring instruments.Setting up and operating a conventional lathe for the preparation of welded parts.Proper Identification of materials and component preparation.Assembly activities during production.Welding repairs on raw and finished parts.Welding installations based on technical drawings.Complete all welding work assigned according to operation instruction.Verify the quality of finished work, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of specifications and workmanshipMeet production goals relating to efficiency, schedules, and scrap.Troubleshoot and correct process and equipment problems.Collaborate with machinists and assemblers on the team to discuss and solve problems relating to repairs and equipment.Record accurate, timely data on computer-based systems or in manual logs.Apply an understanding of the process flow of documents, materials, and parts through the repair or manufacturing process.Maintain a safe workplace by wearing relevant protective equipment according to safety protection requirements, following procedures and rules, and completing training.Clean and maintain machines and tools and keep an organized workspace.Carry out relevant heat treatment operation according to heat treatment operation instruction or process documents.Other duties as assignedRequirements:HS Diploma / GED and / or 0-2 years relevant experienceWelding experience in a manufacturing or repair environment.Able to define, evaluate, and discuss quality workmanship related to welding.Standing for long times required, repetitive arm motions, frequent lifting with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.Demonstrated track record of reliable, dependable attendance; able to work overtime and weekends as required on short noticeEmbraces training and skill development with a positive attitudeDemonstrates a strong commitment to workplace safety by consistently following all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsMust show a customer-service mindset for on-time delivery and quality work.Capable of working independently, flexibly, and accuratelyGood team spirit and initiativeWillingness to take on other duties as assignedPreferred:Welder certificateWelding experience in mechanical manufacturing or valve industryPT and MT related certificatesPost weld heat treatment experienceGood technical understandingSAP knowledgeBenefits Starting from Day 1:Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance (including FSA and HSA options)Life Insurance + Supplemental Life, Child, Spousal, and AD&D InsuranceShort- and Long-Term DisabilityRetirement Planning, 401(k) plan, & Financial Wellness ResourcesEducational Assistance ProgramTime off Policies (including sick leave, parental leave, and paid vacation)Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment
