Job summary

Indotronix in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a welder for a 4-month on-site contract. You will set up, operate, and tend welding, soldering, or brazing machines, working in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

The role requires 2–4 years of welding experience and a high school diploma or GED, with formal welding training preferred. You will use MIG, TIG, stick, flux-core arc, and laser welders to produce precise joints and inspect work for quality.

Responsibilities

• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments.
• Monitor the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating or distortion.
• Detect faulty operation or defective materials and notify supervisors.
• Examine workpieces for defects and measure to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Operate tools common to welding, such as SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW equipment.
• Determine required equipment and welding methods based on metallurgy, geometry and techniques.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.

**Location: **Bloomfield, CT 06002 | Onsite**Type & Duration: **04 Months | Contract**Shift: **1st Shift & 2nd Shift**Job Description:**The main function of a welder is to set-up, operate or tend welding, soldering, or brazing machines.**Job Responsibilities:**• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments.• Monitor the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of material.• Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.• Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.• Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools.**Skills:**• Verbal communication skills and attention to detail.• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.• Basic knowledge of welding processes, such as gas metal arc, plasma arc, and resistance welding.• Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.• Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.**Education/Experience:**• High school diploma or GED required.• 2-4 years of experience• Formal welding training in vocational or trade school preferred.You should be proficient in:Welding Setups for ProductionwelderMachines & technologies you'll use:MIG WelderTIG WelderStick WelderFlux-Cored Arc WelderLaser Welder
