WE ARE looking for a Welder to join our Maintenance Team at our Belle Glade location!

The Welder is responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining equipment, machinery, and structural components in the vegetable processing facility. This role ensures that all welding and fabrication tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards to support smooth production operations.

The essential duties and responsibilities of this role are included but not limited to this job description as other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.

Essential job responsibilities:

  • Perform TIG, MIG, and stick welding on stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum as required for food-grade equipment and structural components
  • Fabricate and assemble metal parts according to blueprints, technical drawings, or verbal instructions
  • Repair and maintain machinery such as conveyors, hoppers, bagging machines, and other processing equipment used in vegetable handling
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on equipment
  • Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMPs)
  • Work with other departments (e.g., production and maintenance teams) to identify and resolve equipment issues
  • Document work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects
  • Other tasks/functions as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certification in welding (e.g., AWS or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a welder, preferably in a food processing or industrial environment

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficiency in TIG, MIG, and stick welding
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of food-grade welding standards and techniques
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Comfortable working in a production environment, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and humidity
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed

Work Environment:

The Welder will work primarily in the plant’s production and maintenance areas, where adherence to food safety and sanitation standards is essential.

Language Skills:

  • Proficient communication skills; Must be able to speak, read and write in English. Bi-lingual Spanish is preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver License
  • First Aid Certificate/CPR Training (Company will train)
