Job summary

Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. is seeking an experienced Welder to join our manufacturing team in the NM area.

You will lay out parts, position them in jigs, and operate welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate, and repair metal components according to blueprints and work orders. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of welding experience or a Weld School Certification, with preferred credentials in grinding, GMAW, or flux core.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience or Weld School Certification.
• Preferred Certifications: Grinding, GMAW, Flux Core or Arcosa will Certify.
• Preferred ability to qualify as horizontal welder.
• Preferred ability to qualify as vertical welder.
• Preferred Certification for vertical or horizontal groove welding or Arcosa will Certify.
• Must communicate in English (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Proficiently perform Oxy Fuel Burning and Carbon Arcing.
• May perform multiple pass welds.
• Lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies.
• Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Observe all safety practices.
• Maintain and complete all required records.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Arcosa Wind Towers is looking for a Welder. As aWelder, you’ll use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders and use manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. The Welder also inspects completed work for conformance to specifications and performs minor maintenance to equipment.

What you’ll do:

What You’ll Need:

Working Conditions:

• Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
• This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
• Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
• Overtime and Overtime on Saturdays, as needed
• Schedule is subject to change
