Entegris is hiring a Weld Technician – Examiner for the 2nd shift (3:00PM-11:00PM) in San Luis Obispo, CA. The role focuses on 100% visual inspection of welds to ASME B31.3 unless otherwise specified.

You will review welds and Exam Reports under pass/fail criteria and work from instructions, drawings, and SAP-generated parts lists. Qualified candidates have 0-2 years TIG welding of stainless steel and QA experience with process piping, along with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, follow

• 0-2 years’ TIG welding experience with stainless steel.
• 0-2 years’ QA experience in process piping.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate from instructions, drawings, and lists of various tube configurations with supervision.
• Print drawings and parts lists in SAP.
• Inspect welded tubing and components from 1/8" to 6" diameter using proper tools and equipment.
• Follow engineering specifications to produce quality, accurate products in a timely manner.
• Complete 6S responsibilities and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Upload Weld Exam Reports into shared folders.

Job Description

Entegris is currently seeking a Weld Technician – Examiner to join our team. The Weld Technician - Examiner will be responsible for performing tasks related to completed weld components used in our Ultra High Purity Systems. The primary objective of the weld examiner is to ensure all welds have been 100% visually inspected to the standard code of ASME B31.3 unless specified different in the Customer Data Sheet. Welds and the Exam Reports will be reviewed by the weld examiner under a pass or fail criteria. This position will be based in our San Luis Obispo, California facility.

What You’ll Do

• Works from instructions, drawings, and lists of various tube configurations with supervision.
• Use SAP to print drawings and parts lists.
• Use Ultra High Purity (UHP) process.
• Inspects welded tubing and components from 1/8th” to 6”diameter using proper tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Follow engineering specifications to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner.
• Performs routine, repetitive operations and processes.
• Complete 6S responsibilities (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety).
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and maintain or increase On-Time Shipments.
• Ability to work safely and recognize the safety of others.
• Provide accuracy and consistency in work performance.
• Learn proper measuring techniques, tool use, care, and quality standards.
• Work with a team as well as independently when needed.
• Uploading Weld Exam Reports into shared folders.
• Understands the code criteria of weld.
• Any other duties as assigned.

What We Seek

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years’ experience tig welding of stainless steel.
• 0-2 years’ experience is Quality Assurance of process piping.
• Ability to learn to navigate through an operating system to find, drawings and instructions.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs daily.
• Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Focus on attention to detail to drive plant safety and product quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
• Ability to learn how to handle material responsibly.
• Dependability and flexibility to work overtime and weekends to support business needs.
