Summary/Objective:
The Weld Shop Foreman will manage all aspects of fabricated carbon and stainless-steel piping projects from the moment a shop order is turned into the shop until delivery is made and the client is satisfied.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with Director of Steel Fabrication to build an accurate production schedule.
- Ensures the production schedule is adhered to so that orders are ready by their required shipment date.
- Assist in developing and evaluating time required by shop staff to complete fit up and welding in order to accurately estimate costs for future projects.
- Oversees inventory levels for pipe, flanges, fittings, structural components, welding consumables etc. are maintained to meet requirements of open orders.
- Coordinates with Director of Steel Fabrication to confirm all products requiring paint/galvanizing/pickling are scheduled and completed before the required shipment date.
- Maintains communication between Director of Steel Fabrication and fabrication shop as materials are being purchased, received, fabricated, painted, and shipped to the final destination.
- Supervises employees that work in the fab shop including the creation of and implementation of a system of accountability for all direct reports, and hiring/firing decisions with approval of executive management.
- Works with or as a QA/QC personnel to ensure that all safety procedures are being followed in the shop.
- Actively suggests clean operational improvements to enhance quality, production, and reduce cost.
- Handles issues that arise in relation to fab shop maintenance and daily warehouse operations.
- Trains and educates welders, fitters, and helpers in order to increase their knowledge of the AWWA Water Pipe Industry.
- Assists the executive management team in enhancing the culture, reputation and profitability of the company by being on time, having a great attitude, and setting the example of hard work and dependability for the team you manage.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior exceptional work experience with the company preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse the production facility.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
