Job Description

The Weld Program Instructor / Welder will provide technical guidance and expertise in welding, adhering to procedural requirements and client contract standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide technical guidance to prepare students to meet NAVSEA and GDEB welding standards and procedures.
2. Guide students on GMAW Pulse, GMAW Spray weld processes, metal grinding, and oxy-fuel torch use.
3. Assist with weld preparation for various NDT processes.
4. Maintain safe working and training environments according to Thielsch and GDEB standards.
5. Develop and follow a curriculum compliant with the GDEB Pipeline Training Program.
6. Conduct classroom and practical training sessions based on approved curricula.
7. Review, grade, and return student assignments.
8. Keep detailed records and documentation for Thielsch and GDEB.
9. Prepare students for welding qualification tests for GDEB.
10. Procure welding supplies and materials for training.
11. Demonstrate strong time-management and adaptability skills.
12. Work independently and collaboratively.
13. Address conflicts and administer disciplinary actions when necessary.
14. Build professional relationships with GDEB staff and HR partners.
15. Ensure a safe workplace with proper housekeeping.
16. Exhibit excellent interpersonal communication skills.
17. Introduce new ideas to improve the department.
18. Perform additional duties as assigned.
