The incumbent will collaborate with weld technicians, define standards, and support equipment design and start-up while traveling up to 30% overnight. Detroit metro area, strong automotive industry focus.

Qualifikationen

• 5 years welding technician experience or equivalent in welding programs for robotic systems.
• Experience setting up and troubleshooting automated welding applications and preventive maintenance on weld fixtures and cells.
• Ability to interpret part prints and adjust Mig schedules.
• Completion of training classes: Fanuc, ABB or OTC.
• Independent/coordinated robotic motion control experience is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate development of weld processes on complex assemblies.
• Collaborate with weld technicians across ASNA facilities.
• Determine direct and indirect labor needs for new equipment.
• Define and ensure adherence to technical standards through process development.
• Support purchasing in supplier selection/evaluation for process technologies, including automated welding.
• Lead or assist others in troubleshooting process problems across manufacturing conditions.
• Conduct continuous improvement projects to improve OEE of processes.
• Support new program requirements related to manufacturing and quality.
• Assist in design and documentation of new processing equipment.
• Assist in implementation of new equipment (design buyoff, start-up, spare parts).
• Lead or support cycle time reductions, 5S, and mistake-proofing strategies.
• Assist in corrective actions for internal/customer issues.
• Maintain or improve process stability/capability including dimensional performance.
• Domest ic/International travel ~30% overnight, ~10% supplier visits.
