Responsibilities

• Support task time and maintain smooth workflow across the welding team.
• Train and coach Welders on proper processes, techniques, and safety practices.
• Conduct initial quality checks of welds before QA inspection.
• Communicate effectively with Supervisors and other departments regarding production and quality issues.
• Ensure adherence to blueprints, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and proper material handling.

Weld Lead
Location: Riverside, CA
Pay Rate: $36.50/hr. - $40.00/hr.
Schedule: 6am - 2:30pm
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Weld Lead to oversee the daily operations of our welding team. This role ensures workflow efficiency, quality standards, and provides hands‑on training and guidance to team members.
Key Responsibilities

• Assign daily tasks and priorities to Welders to meet production schedules
• Support task time and maintain smooth workflow across the welding team
• Train and coach Welders on proper processes, techniques, and safety practices
• Conduct initial quality checks of welds before QA inspection
• Communicate effectively with Supervisors and other departments regarding production and quality issues
• Ensure adherence to blueprints, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and proper material handling

Position Requirements

• 4–7+ years of total welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
• 1-2+ years of proven experience in a lead or supervisory role
• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of blueprints, WPS, and material handling procedures
• Proven ability to mentor team members and ensure consistent quality and adherence to safety standards
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail

Physical Demands

• Frequent use of hands and fingers for welding, grinding, and assembly tasks
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 40 lbs; occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance
• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods during a shift
• Hand‑eye coordination required for precise welding and fitting operations
• Good visual acuity, including color perception and depth perception, necessary for inspecting welds and reading drawings
• Ability to hear alarms, signals, and communicate effectively in a noisy environment

Work Environment

• Temperature: Exposure to hot and cold temperatures depending on production area and seasonal conditions
• Noise: Work performed in moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection may be required
• Fumes and Particulates: Exposure to welding fumes, dust, and airborne particles; proper respiratory protection and ventilation required
• Lighting: Work performed in well‑lit areas, with occasional need for supplemental task lighting
• Work Surface: Walking and working on uneven, metal, or grating surfaces; climbing ladders or working at elevated positions may be required
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Use of welding helmet, gloves, protective clothing, and other PPE as required by safety standards
• Safety Hazards: Exposure to sparks, molten metal, and moving machinery; strict adherence to safety procedures required
