Chart Industries is seeking a Weld Engineer to lead welding operations across aluminum, stainless, and carbon steel projects using GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, and SMAW. The role requires developing and maintaining WPQ/WPS/WPQR, logging and reporting activities, and driving continuous improvements in welding quality and capacity.

The candidate should have a BS in a relevant engineering field, at least 3 years of Weld Engineering experience, and familiarity with NDE basics (RT, UT, LPT, MPT, VT).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Weld Engineering, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or Material Sciences.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as Weld Engineer in shop production or field construction.
• Familiarity with NDE basics including RT, UT, LPT, MPT and VT.

Responsabilités

• Assign and control WPQ/WPS/WPQR on aluminum, stainless and carbon steel alloys using GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW and SMAW per ASME IX and AWS D1.1.
• Maintain WPQ and continuity logs for GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW and SMAW per ASME IX and AWS D1.1.
• Identify and resolve production problems related to design engineering, quality control, drafting, sales and supervision.
• Provide ongoing needs for testing, training, process implementation or other shop floor activities.
• Prepare and justify AFEs for welding equipment to improve capacity; issue POs as needed.
• Prepare shop floor reports on activities, training, quality, and project outcomes.
• Other duties as assigned
