Job summary

Relativity Space is hiring for a Weld Engineer to help develop and optimize fusion welding processes for Terran R, partnering with design, manufacturing, materials, and quality teams. You will troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions that keep welding operations moving smoothly.

The role requires a strong hands-on approach, ownership mentality, and experience in high-paced production environments.

Qualifications

• BS in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years welding in a production environment.
• Experience with GTAW, GMAW, OTW, and laser welding.
• Experience with AWS/ASME or similar specs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize fusion welding processes for Terran R.
• Provide technical support for welding operations, troubleshoot issues, and develop solutions to rapidly resolve production welding challenges.
• Serve as the accountable weld engineer for stage hardware, including transfer tubes, fluid assemblies, grid fins, bellows, and heat shields.
• Ensure process quality control and documentation meet required standards; implement corrective actions and continuous improvements.
