Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking a Weld Engineer to develop and optimize welding processes for Terran R propulsion hardware, collaborating with design, manufacturing, materials, and quality teams.

You will own welding solutions, troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment, and drive continuous improvements across stage hardware while ensuring QC and proper documentation. A BS in a related field and 3+ years of welding experience are expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of welding experience in high-paced production manufacturing.
• Experience with GTAW, GMAW, OTW, and laser welding.
• Strong ownership mindset and hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize welding processes for Terran R components.
• Provide technical welding support to manufacturing, troubleshoot issues, and resolve production welding challenges.
• Serve as the accountable weld engineer for stage hardware (transfer tubes, fluid assemblies, grid fins, bellows, heat shields).
• Ensure process quality control and documentation; implement corrective actions and continuous improvements.
