Responsibilities
  • Set up new and existing fixtures in the weld department.
  • Complete assignments established by Production Management.
  • Work with Engineering on new fixtures and equipment.
  • Perform changeovers on weld equipment and schedules and obtain quality approval of submitted samples for production run approval.
  • Perform in‑process adjustments on weld equipment as necessary.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on weld fixtures and accessory equipment daily.
  • Build, install, or repair sensor or part‑detection equipment on weld machines, ensuring cable protection.
  • Remove and replace weld consumables and components on given fixtures or machines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of welding processes.
  • Be able to perform all weld machine operations and run production equipment if required.
  • Perform maintenance on weld cells (pneumatic, electrical, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot robotic and resistance machine problems—including wire feed, arc failures, torch contact, sensor and gas flow for robotic welders and air pressure, water flow, sensor, and weld‑gun indexing for resistance machines.
Qualifications

To perform this position successfully, a candidate must have:

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A technical and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot robotic or resistance welding equipment and replace consumables such as contact tips, diffusers, electrodes, shanks, and more.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic mathematical skills to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems in standardized situations.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, lift and move up to 50 pounds, and handle tasks involving reaching, bending, and moving heavy items; ability to lift up to 40 lbs when required.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to company safety standards.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.

  • Perform job tasks regularly; occasional sitting, climbing, and balancing required.
Work Environment

The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and generally loud noise. Hearing protection and eye protection (safety glasses) are required and supplied. Steel‑toe safety shoes or boots must be purchased and worn.

Shift Hours

1st shift: 6 am to 2 pm, Monday–Friday. Occasionally overtime is expected on Saturdays and Sundays.
