Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of GD&T and MIL-Standards.
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and weld inspection experience (CWI preferred).
  • Ability to read engineering blueprints/diagrams and interpret weld procedures.
  • DoD clearance required or ability to obtain.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Weld Manufacturing Engineer to join our Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Group located in Tupelo, MS.

Under general supervision, this position supports the manufacturing production process with focus on the design, development, and implementation of new or revised production processes for the efficient and economical fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub- assemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Conducts tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Designs the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery.
  • Collaborates with product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Estimates manufacturing costs and determines time standards.
  • Ensures that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
  • Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
  • Develops appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions and communicates results to staff.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Must have a general understanding of Welding and fabrication of welded parts
  • Must have hands on experience with welding and fabrication
  • The ability to read and understand engineering blue prints and diagrams
  • Experience working with and interpreting Specifications including MIL-Standards and weld procedures

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a bachelors in engineering or a related technical filed as well as two or more years of manufacturing engineering experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have a general understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Must have a working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Must have an understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Knowledge of weld inspection, CWI preferred but not required.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables. Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD clearance is required.
  • Must be able to work extended hours as required.

Job Type: Full-Time Salary

Salary range: 62,460 - 105,533
