Job summary

Almost Kin in Evansville, Indiana, is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Attendant to provide non-medical in-home support, help with daily living activities, and promote client independence in a safe, comfortable home environment.

You will assist with bathing, dressing, meal prep, light housekeeping, mobility, and transportation as needed, while documenting services and communicating changes to your supervisor.

Qualifications

• No medical license required.
• Must have completed caregiver or personal care attendant training as required by the state of Indiana and the agency.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

GENERAL FUNCTION

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting as needed.

KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIRED TRAINING

No medical license required. Must have completed caregiver or personal care attendant training as required by the state of Indiana and the agency. Knowledge of safe transfer techniques, infection control, and basic personal care preferred. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Maintains compassionate, respectful communication with clients, families, and agency staff. Reports directly to the assigned supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires the ability to assist clients with personal care and mobility. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, perform household tasks, and work on feet for extended periods.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in client homes and community settings. Conditions may vary depending on client environment. Exposure to household pets, smoking, or other variables may occur.
