Job summary

Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter is seeking a Youth Care Specialist to supervise residents and document concerns with Case Managers, upholding our mission and values. This role requires Saturdays and Sundays from 3pm–11pm, with direct care, safety, and supportive guidance.

You will partner with Counseling staff, Education teams, and family services to promote healthy development, behavior management, and individualized success while maintaining professional boundaries and adherence to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass criminal history and background checks.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervises and interacts with residents at all times and documents concerns and feedback for case managers and team leaders.
• Promotes health development, behavior management, learning, and individual success for each resident.
• Engages with residents in daily activities and builds positive relationships to support goal achievement.
• Collaborates with Case Managers, Counseling Staff, and Education to meet residents' needs.
• Transports residents to community activities and medical appointments as assigned.
• Attends trainings to understand child and adolescent development principles.
• Maintains professional boundaries and models positive interactions.
• Follows all shelter policies and participates in required meetings and events.
