Job summary

The Player Progression Academy in Washington, DC is hiring part-time youth basketball officials to oversee games from elementary to middle school levels. You will uphold game rules, maintain safety, and create a fun, fair environment for players and spectators during weekend fixtures.

Requirements include strong sports knowledge, clear communication, and the ability to manage equipment and game-day logistics.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of organized sports, including game skills, rules, and safety considerations.
• Ability to effectively communicate and enforce league and game rules.
• Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and engagement with players and spectators.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, coaches, players/participants, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Officiate games according to set rules and with fairness and respect to all participants and spectators.
• Assure the return and condition of issued equipment and supplies.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures at Game-day sites.
• Perform other related duties as required
