Job summary

Aston Group is seeking a Wound Care Nurse (RN) to provide specialized wound management and support effective healing for residents. This weekend-only role emphasizes clinical accuracy, consistent documentation, and close collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The position requires active RN licensure, CPR/BLS, and at least two years of nursing experience; a BSN is preferred and experience with geriatrics or subacute populations is valued.

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license required.
• BSN preferred; graduate of accredited RN program.
• Peripheral IV certification.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience.
• Geriatrics or subacute experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification current.

Responsibilities

• Maintain updated care plans for skin impairments.
• Conduct weekly wound rounds with wound consultant.
• Document weekly wound measurements with accuracy.
• Monitor new pressure-related skin openings and root causes.
• Assess and manage complex wounds (surgical, arterial, venous).
• Document treatments, changes and follow-up needs.
• Educate residents, families and caregivers on wound care.
• Demonstrate wound care techniques to staff.
• Communicate with interdisciplinary team for coordinated care.
