Job summary

WEAR in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Weekend Meteorologist/Reporter to deliver the weekend forecast on air and across our digital platforms.

You will forecast, produce and present weather casts, issue warnings and graphics, report live during weather events, and contribute weather stories for health and consumer coverage three days a week. The role requires strong storytelling, accurate forecasting, and the ability to engage viewers with clear visuals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Two years' experience in weather presentation and reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Forecast, produce and present clear and concise weather casts that tell a story and connect with viewers.
• Issue warnings, produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather events.
• Utilize social media during severe weather and write weather stories.
• Make public appearances on behalf of the station.
• Pitch story ideas and develop contacts related to weather, health, and consumer items 3 days a week.
• Work with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations.
