Job summary

St. Luke Lutheran Community is seeking experienced LPNs to join the Weekend Warrior Program at the Portage Lakes campus in Akron, OH. Earn premium weekend pay while maintaining a Monday–Friday free schedule and work within a small, lower-acuity facility.

The role requires an active Ohio LPN license, LTC experience preferred, strong clinical communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care, plus pre-employment screening and direct deposit for payroll.

Qualifications

• License: Active, unencumbered LPN license in Ohio.
• Experience: Prior LTC or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Skills: Strong clinical communication, teamwork, patient-centered care.
• Pre-Employment Screening: Pre-employment physical and BCI fingerprinting background check.
• Logistics: Direct deposit is required for payroll.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, wound care, catheter care, and other prescribed treatments.
• Monitor, assess, and accurately document changes in residents’ health conditions.
• Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive, interdisciplinary resident care plans.
• Supervise, support, and mentor STNAs on your shift.
• Partner closely with physicians, RNs, and the broader interdisciplinary care team to ensure seamless operations.
• Swiftly respond to emergencies and acute changes in resident conditions.

What You’ll Do (LPN Responsibilities):

As an LPN on our weekend team, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to our residents. Key responsibilities include:

• Clinical Care: Administer medications, specialized wound care, catheter care, and other prescribed treatments.

• Resident Monitoring: Monitor, assess, and accurately document changes in residents’ health conditions.

• Care Planning: Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive, interdisciplinary resident care plans.

• Leadership: Supervise, support, and mentor State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNAs) on your shift.

• Collaboration: Partner closely with physicians, RNs, and the broader interdisciplinary care team to ensure seamless operations.

• Emergency Response: Swiftly respond to emergencies and acute changes in resident conditions.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements):

• License: Active, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Ohio.

• Experience: Prior experience in long-term care (LTC) or skilled nursing is preferred.

• Skills: Strong clinical communication, sharp teamwork abilities, and a patient-centered approach to care.

• Pre-Employment Screening: Must be willing to complete a pre-employment physical and a BCI fingerprinting background check.

• Logistics: Direct deposit is required for payroll.
