New All Creatures Veterinary Hospital in Vallejo is seeking a part-time Veterinary Assistant to support the owner/medical director. Weekend shifts (Friday–Sunday, 8-hour) with potential to move to full-time based on performance.

Responsibilities include administrative tasks, client communication, animal care, and assisting during exams and procedures. The role requires basic veterinary knowledge, strong professionalism, and experience with medical records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years related experience and training or equivalent.
• Previous veterinary experience: 1+ year(s).
• Previous client service experience: 1+ year(s).

Responsibilities

• Administrative support: Scheduling surgeries, ultrasounds, and appointments.
• Correspondence: handle emails, calls, and mail; maintain patient records.
• Billing: assist with invoicing and payments.
• Client interaction: communicate about appointments, procedures, and follow-up care.
• Education: provide pet care, nutrition, and preventive information.
• Medical assistance: prepare exam rooms and assist during procedures.
• Animal care: provide basic patient care and administer medications.
