Job summary

MU Health Care in Jefferson City is seeking a dynamic Unit Clerk for the Progressive Care Unit. The role includes greeting patients and visitors, transcribing orders, answering calls, and helping maintain an orderly, courteous environment for staff and patients.

The on-site position requires multitasking in a fast-paced setting, with Friday–Sunday 3x12 shifts and a weekend differential. Competitive benefits, including health options and tuition assistance, are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, visitors and employees with courtesy and respect.
• Transcribe and process physician orders and manage computer entry.
• Answer phones, direct calls and take messages for physicians, nurses and staff.
• Maintain unit station and common areas in a neat and orderly manner and manage supplies.
• Coordinate admissions/discharges, census logs, and patient medical records.
• Maintain the computerized bed-management system and run/ reconcile management reports.
