Job summary

Interim HealthCare of Oklahoma City is seeking a Weekend Triage Nurse to be the first call for our home health patients on Saturdays and Sundays. You will assess needs by phone, provide guidance, and dispatch on-call nurses when a visit is needed.

The role is remote, weekend-only, with a $100 per day stipend and weekly pay on Fridays. We value experienced RNs who can communicate clearly with families and physicians.

Qualifications

• Active Oklahoma RN license.
• Home health experience is required.
• Previous triage or on-call experience in home health is required.
• Calm, clear communication with patients, families, nurses, and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Triage and assess callers by phone on weekends.
• Dispatch on-call field nurse when a visit is needed.
• Document calls accurately in EMR.
• Coordinate with clinicians and physicians for orders or updates.

Interim HealthCare of Oklahoma City is hiring a Weekend Triage Nurse to be the first call for our home health patients on Saturdays and Sundays. When a patient or family calls, you'll assess the situation by phone, give clear guidance, and dispatch a field nurse when a visit is needed. If you've done triage before and want a weekend role with a steady team behind you, this one is built for you.

Your schedule

• Saturday and Sunday
• Phone-based from home; our on-call field nurses make any visits

What you'll do as a Weekend Triage Nurse

• Take incoming weekend calls from home health patients, families, and caregivers
• Assess symptoms and concerns by phone and decide on the right next step
• Dispatch the on-call field nurse when a visit is needed and give them what they need to know before they go
• Contact physicians for orders or updates when a patient's condition changes
• Give patients and families clear instructions and reassurance when a visit isn't needed
• Document every call accurately and on time in our EMR
• Hand off weekend activity to the clinical team on Monday so nothing falls through the cracks

What we're looking for

• Active Oklahoma RN license
• Home health experience is required
• Previous triage or on-call experience in home health is required
• Sound clinical judgment and the confidence to make decisions over the phone
• Strong knowledge of home health patient populations, plans of care, and when to elevate
• Calm, clear communication with patients, families, nurses, and physicians
• Reliable phone and internet access while on shift

Oklahoma City, Edmond, Norman, Moore, Yukon, Midwest City, Mustang, Guthrie, Choctaw, Wellston, Harrah, Piedmont, and Blanchard.
