Summary
The Weekend Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Director and Assistant Director of Health Services in planning, organizing, developing, and directing weekend functions of the Nursing Department(s). They ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations, maintaining the highest quality of care at all times.
Work Requirements
- Weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
- Twelve (12) hour shifts
- Shifts from 8am-8:30pm, 9am-9:30pm, or 10am-10:30pm
- Shifts start no earlier than 8am
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing nursing services and programs.
- Report and recommend on nursing department operations.
- Coordinate nursing services with other resident services for continuity of care.
- Complete nursing assessments, care plans, and MDS assessments.
- Ensure accurate documentation of daily skilled care, medications, and treatments.
- Perform administrative duties such as completing forms, reports, and evaluations.
- Supervise and assist with resident care based on assessments and plans.
- Participate in survey preparations and audits.
- Administer and document medications and treatments as ordered.
- Monitor residents' conditions, notify relevant personnel of changes, and document accordingly.
- Perform nursing procedures as needed.
- Assist with resident documentation and ensure medical records are complete.
- Operate and teach use of medical equipment.
- Provide direct nursing care when necessary.
- Maintain a welcoming environment for residents and visitors, including conducting tours as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Leadership and supervisory skills; ability to work harmoniously with staff.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and following instructions in English.
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Effective tactful communication with personnel, residents, families, and external agencies.
- Knowledge of nursing practices, laws, and regulations related to long-term care.
Qualifications
- Valid state LPN/RN license and CPR certification.
