Job summary

DIS-TRAN Steel in Pineville, LA is seeking a Submerged Arc Welder to join our pole team on the weekend shift. The role welds with a submerged arc welding machine and reads blueprints and tape measures to ensure precise fabrication.

You will perform daily equipment checks, adjust welding parameters for different pole diameters, operate an overhead crane, and participate in on-site training and safety programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret tape measures.
• Ability to read blueprints required.
• Must pass Welder I certification test.
• On-site training and safe operation of machinery will be demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Welds using a submerged arc welding machine.
• Must be able to pass Welder I certification test.
• Performs a visual inspection of the machinery prior to operation.
• Measures and adjusts hydraulic arms to receive material based on diameter.
• Loads & unloads shells using the overhead crane with proper lifting equipment.
• Runs welding machine within parameters using predetermined settings.
• Adjust welding machine settings based on thickness and pole type.
