The San Francisco Standard is seeking a dynamic Weekend Social Media Editor based in San Francisco to lead posting and optimization of content across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and more. This role blends creative storytelling with data-driven strategy, focusing on engaging our readers during weekend coverage.

You will work with editors and freelancers to publish weekend stories on schedule, monitor trends, and refine our social presence.

Qualifications

3+ years of social media experience, preferably in media/publishing.
Strong editorial judgment with ability to craft SEO/social headlines and engaging visuals.
Social video creation and editing experience.
Familiar with San Francisco's social landscape and audience.
Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
Proficient with native analytics and publishing tools.

Responsabilités

Create and optimize content for social platforms; post articles daily across Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, and more.
Conceive social-first content and social-only formats.
Attend weekend events to shoot, edit, and post quick-turn videos.
Collaborate with editors and freelancers to review and publish weekend stories on schedule.
Monitor trends and performance; adjust strategy to grow reach and engagement.
Stay current with the latest social tools and platform changes.
