Job summary

AMETEK is seeking a Machine Operator to assemble a wide variety of components and subassemblies for quality products. The role operates on a fixed weekend schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, with training on 1st shift for 2–4 weeks before transitioning to the weekend night shift.

You will read blueprints, use precision tools, and perform inspections to ensure product quality. Qualified candidates have a HS diploma or GED and at least 6 months in manufacturing, with basic math

Qualifications

  • HS graduate or GED required.
  • At least 6 months manufacturing experience.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong math aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic machining operations using assigned machine tools.
  • Inspect parts using basic measuring tools; report out-of-tolerance conditions and obtain first piece inspection approval.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work area and follow safety procedures.
  • Read and follow blueprints, diagrams, specifications, bills of materials, and procedures to assemble products.
  • Perform quality checks and document defects.
  • Attend training and assist in training other associates.

Job description

As a Machine Operator you will be responsible for the assembly of a wide variety of assemblies and subassemblies to produce a quality product for our customer.

Shift

This position works a fixed weekend schedule of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Training Schedule

Training will be conducted on 1st Shift (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM) for approximately 2-4 weeks. Upon successful completion of training, employees will transition to the regular weekend night shift (Friday-Sunday, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM).

Essential Responsibilities Include The Following
  • Perform basic machining operations using assigned machine tools
  • Inspect parts using basic measuring tools. Inform lead person of out of tolerance situations. Obtain first piece inspection approval before proceeding. Conduct periodic inspection of parts.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports as required. Maintain established quality standards. Ensure work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly condition, that prescribed safety measures are followed, and established company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations including wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment.
  • Operates equipment in a safe manner. Participate as a member of work teams.
  • Assist in measuring team performance for safety, quality, cost and to continually improve these measures.
  • Read, follow basic blueprints, diagrams, specifications, bills of materials, and/or procedures to accurately assemble products.
  • Perform microscope inspection on assembled parts.
  • Maintain inventory of product in workstations.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
  • Attends required training programs. Performs 5s activities.
  • Assist in the training of other associates in procedures and use of equipment.
  • Ability to read, use various inspection equipment, precision tools, understand and apply basic inspection and sound measurement practices.
  • Other duties may be assigned
Education And/or Experience
  • HS Graduate of Equivalent i.e. GED
  • At least 6 months’ work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to remain productive under indirect supervision and follow verbal and written instructions and techniques
  • Basic mathematical aptitude required
Compensation
  • Employee Type: Hourly

  • Salary Minimum: 40,000
  • Salary Maximum: 60,000
