Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA is seeking a Shift Lead to guide Repack, VAS, and Sorting operations on the C shift (Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM). You will lead a hands-on team, ensure production goals, food safety, and quality, and collaborate across shifts to drive continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes scheduling, training, and evaluating team members, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance with GMPs and SQF standards.

Qualifications

• Lead daily operations in Repack, VAS and Sorting areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations in Repack, VAS, and Sorting areas, ensuring production goals, quality, and safety are met.
• Perform quality checks and coordinate with QA to maintain product integrity.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and evaluating team members to maintain productivity.
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors about downtime and issues.
• Monitor workstations for efficiency, accuracy, quality, and GMP compliance.
• Utilize ERP systems (D365) to manage inventory and reporting needs.
• Oversee dock activities including unloading/loading and staging materials.
• Support warehouse processes including returns, sorting, and distribution.
• Lead continuous improvement projects and special assignments.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and report unsafe conditions.
• Escalate questionable product to supervisor review.
• Support SQF standards and food safety tasks as required.
